The activities in this curriculum have been developed for Girl Guides and Girl Scout groups, youth organizations, schools and other groups to use. This curriculum provides knowledge, skills and opportunities to change attitudes and to help stop the violence against women and girls. It creates safe and supportive sessions for young people to learn about their rights and to discuss and challenge violence against women and girls. It also provides referral routes and other information for young people if they choose to disclose their own experiences of violence. The curriculum is designed for participants who are at an important stage of their life cycle when they are forming their own friendships and relationships; when they are considering what it means to be themselves; when they are developing their own beliefs and attitudes, and their own values about gender norms, roles and expectations; and as they get older when they are exploring their own sexuality. This curriculum provides interactive, child and youth-centred ways for young people to talk about relationships, gender equality and abuse, within a safe and supportive environment.
