Share-Net Netherlands kindly invites you to the 9th Annual Meeting for Young Researchers: “Linking Research, Policy and Practice.’’ This meeting is tentatively planned for Thursday, 12th of November 2020.
This meeting brings together policy-makers, practitioners and researchers working on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and gender equality and women’s empowerment (GEWE) in international development. The focus lies on the work of young professionals who have recently submitted or are in the process of finishing research as part of a Master programme, postgraduate degree, research internship or research consultancy. Hereby, we hope not only to disseminate knowledge on SRHR and GEWE, but also to create a space for open dialogue, to identify further gaps in research, policy and practice and to harvest networking opportunities.
Last year, selected researchers presented their findings with a poster presentation in a gallery walk setting. Given the current limitations due to COVID-19, we have decided to move online and encourage contributors to draw from the variety of presentation methods that the virtual space allows.
Share-Net Netherlands invites Master and postgraduate students, research interns and young professionals who have recently finalised (or will finalise by the end of this year) their research at a Dutch university or organisation to present their findings and fieldwork experiences.
To prepare for the presentation during the virtual meeting, Share-Net Netherlands will organise an online workshop with selected researchers. We want to tailor this learning experience to the needs of admitted applicants, who will determine the content and final date for this workshop by filling in a small survey. Through peer-learning and inviting external experts, we aim for you to become acquainted with the most relevant presentation and knowledge translation formats (e.g. data visualisation, interactive presentation tools, pecha kucha presentation, or other). The workshop will most likely take place in the end of September or beginning of October.
After the workshop, presenters will have time to apply their new knowledge and prepare an engaging presentation for the 9th Annual Meeting for Young Researchers “Linking Research, Policy and Practice”.
