Online e-course – Be Better. Do Better: A holistic journey towards anti-racism

Who is this course for?

This e-course was designed for non-black people who are open to starting their journey in becoming an antiracist, catalyzing the lifelong journey towards transformative allyship. This course is for those who want to:

  1. Understand systems which make up the enabling environment for white supremacy
  2. Unpack white fragility and its impact on antiracism
  3. Analyze and adjust everyday manifestations of racism within your environment
  4. Create antiracist practices which aid in dismantling white supremacy

What’s the structure of this course?

Through safe digital spaces to unpack with peers, e-resources with reflection exercises, and facilitated small group discussions, we hope our participants will:

  • Unpack their identity, privilege and, role within systems of oppression
  • Develop a more robust understanding of how systemic racism impacts their everyday lives and has deathly effects on black people
  • Identify windows of opportunity within their community to shift from feelings of shock/sadness/confusion to radical anti-racist action
  • Develop clear calls for anti-racist action for family units, workplaces, neighborhoods, and social circles.

This e-course was created to support participants in shifting paradigms within themselves AND their communities, in an effort to dismantle the racist, white supremacist, patriarchal, capitalist structures around us. This 4-week e-course will include:

  1. A welcome webinar introducing you to this learning journey, hosted by Be Better. Do Better. facilitators featuring special guest, Rachel Cargle!
    • This webinar will explain how this course will be run, why it is important now, and potential next steps personally and collectively.
  2. A curated set of e-resources and self-guided reflection exercises to complete independently.
  3. A two-hour virtual workshop intended to establish personal calls to action based on each participant’s learning journey.
  4. Entry into the Be Better. Do Better Community of Practice intended to allow all of us to collectively resource ourselves in support of transformative anti-racism globally.
    • Here we will share resources, convene virtually for guided discussions, and exchange lessons learned
