Share-Net International stands in solidarity with Ukraine

Igor Medvid, of HPLGBT in Kyiv, Ukraine, a long-standing member of Share-Net International, shares the exact words we are all feeling about the war in Ukraine, it is ‘a dream you want to wake up from’. This unprecedented situation has shaken the world, we hope for imminent peace in Ukraine. We would also like to share Igor’s heartfelt message in the image below, and particularly acknowledge the Ukrainian LGBTQI+ community who face further intersections of marginalisation, we #StandWithUkraine.

Share-Net International calls for the respect of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) in Ukraine, and for the SRHR rights of all people – particularly the rights of Women, Non-Binary, and LGBTIQ+ people in Ukraine – and Ukrainians displaced due to conflict, regardless of their background or ethnicity.
We would like to extend our solidarity to all organisations and people that are prevented from continuing their SRHR work due to conflict and war, as well as with organisations that continue their work under extremely difficult circumstances, such as in Ukraine at the moment.

Many of our members have unfortunately experienced emergencies, conflict, and wars, and know the extreme stress and devastating situation Ukraine is facing all too well. We are confident they can relate, and that we are a network who are here to support each other.
