The International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia & Biphobia (also IDAHO, IDAHOT, orIDAHOBiT) is observed on May 17th and aims to coordinate international events that raise awareness of violations of human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people.

17th of May was chosen to commemorate the decision to remove homosexuality from the International Classification of Diseases of the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1990.

IDAHOT in the Netherlands

On IDAHOT also Dutch LGBTI community organisations and main stream organisations  take action.
This website and it’s connected social media offer a platform for  these  organisations.  On it you will find information on what homo/bi/transphobia is, how people can get involved in raising awareness in their own communities and celebrate diversity. Our agenda lists upcoming events around and on May 17th in the Netherlands.
