Sexual Pleasure

CoP Introduction and Overview

Established in 2019, our Sexual Pleasure CoP  wants to showcase how sexual pleasure and sexual well-being can be put into practice and add value to wider SRH programming by sharing knowledge and resources on sexual pleasure with the other CoPs, Share-Net members within and the SRH community in general. This CoP is very active and meets once every 6 weeks.

The group consists of the 11 members who are all pleasure enthusiasts and enjoy thinking of how we can make the incorporation of sexual pleasure work into mainstream SRHR work more tangible.

Objectives:

  • Sharing latest developments of pleasure and sexual wellbeing in SRH to ensure all Share-Net members (and where relevant a wider audience) have access to state of the art resources and research.
  • Investigating and developing ways how the concept of sexual pleasure and sexual wellbeing can be put into practice in SRH policies/programming (including CSE, service delivery etc.)
  • Exploring gaps in research on (impact of) integrating sexual pleasure in policies, defining research questions and promoting/encouraging research in relevant institutions

Key CoP Resources or Publications

  • The Sexual Pleasure Checklist: Our conversation starter question list to open up conversations about sexual pleasure in SRHR and health programming and projects
